a black and white cross in 3D projection

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (1Corinthians 1:18 KJV)

WHAT ARE GOSPEL TRACTS & GOSPEL TRACKS?

A general dictionary definition of gospel would include 1) the teachings of Jesus and his disciples, and/or 2) the sayings, deeds of Jesus, and his death, burial, and resurrection. the Greek word translated as gospel in the Bible means "good news" or 'good message", but the Gospel of Jesus Christ would not be truly good if it just detailed the life and teaching of a charismatic leader and his followers. The Biblical significance of the Gospel is that it is God's message embodied in His Son, which gives the gift of eternal life to those who accept it into their hearts, and thereby receive the Holy Spirit. Gospel "tracts" or "tracks" can be a means of providing that message of salvation from inevitable death, to eternal life. The GOSPEL is not a contrivance of man, but is God's Own Sacrificial Plan for Eternal Life.

According to the American Heritage dictionary, a tract is a distributed paper or pamphlet containing a declaration or appeal, especially one put out by a religious or political group. The etymology is: ME tracte Lat. tractatus p.part. of tractare, to discuss trahere, to draw. The discussion part of Gospel tracts may use scripture passages primarily, or they may contain the story of the conversion of a person or persons, with either approach intended to draw the reader to a personal response. The two tracts produced by MPNHome.net are now in electronic format, but were originally produced in print format by the site manager. The Gospel "tracks" on this site have been produced in electronic format specifically for the site. As used herein, track means: 1) a. Marks left by the Holy Spirit on the pages of scripture which can be followed to a destination, b. The path, route, or course indicated by such marks. 2) A course of action; method of proceeding. The emphasis for the content of the tracts and tracks produced by MPNHome.net is to present the GOSPEL message, while the emphasis for each Bible study on the site is to direct the reader's thoughts to more in-depth examination of the Word of God, with a response in prayer.
