Rest--The Cure for Anxiety
One morning I decided that enough was enough and that I was going to--once and for all--get to the bottom of my anxiety issue. Out came the books, the articles, the highlighters, the pens, the Bible, the concordance, the dictionary. I looked up all the anxiety verses for the hundredth time. I took notes. Eventually--in my earnestness to get to the bottom of this--I realized the Holy Spirit was waiting to say something. In a very short time He had laid it on the line for me.
I am the answer. Come to Me. Listen to My voice and no other. Listen. To listen you need to be quiet. Make this your highest priority: to be quiet and enter my Presence. It is not that difficult, My child. Reach your arms up to Me. I will lift you up.
Your anxiety is permitted by Me to teach you how great your need is for Me. You feel it, don't you? You have a choice. You may hold on to your cares or give them to Me. Think carefully about the outcome. As you learn to be still with Me and release your cares into My care, I will overwhelm you with sweet pure peace.
If you choose to continue to nurse your anxieties, you will grow heavy and weak from their weight upon you.
Your brain is a trap. This is a negotiation with your spirit. Worship Me in spirit and in truth and you will know release. Come, My little one, trust Me. I AM whom I say I AM--mighty and lifted up, able to do all things exceedingly abundantly beyond all you ask or think
Scripture quotes are from the New International Version.
I Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.
Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden nor more; with your own eyes you will see them.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
An anxious heart weighs a man down...
My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to Your word.
God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.
God said to Moses, "I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’"
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us...
