What do we think when we don't do today
The believing that Jesus puts in our way?
We think and we act like this is the end;
We blew every chance, none will come again.
"O woe is me! I never will learn;
From this sorry person Jesus must turn."
But turn is exactly what Jesus won't do;
He's fully committed to seeing us through.
A new chance is there with every new minute.
We just need to see that Jesus is in it.
While we're standing dejected, surveying our mess,
He's ten yards ahead, having heard us confess
He's ready to go on with His plan;
He's waiting for us to grab hold of His hand.
And so we can stoop and sort through the rubble,
And moan and despair and cause ourselves trouble.
Or leave it behind where God wants it to be;
And go on with Jesus expectantly.
Philippians 3: 13-14 (NIV)
Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)
...let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith...
